Make plans to attend the festival in downtown Lawrenceburg, Kentucky, September 29 – October 1. Festival activities begin at 5:00 p.m. on September 29 and will last throughout the weekend when the festival officially ends at 5:00 p.m. Sunday, October 1. Lawrenceburg is located in the heart of central Kentucky on Hwy. 127 just miles south Frankfort. There will be lots of burgoo, music and entertainment as well as vendors of all kinds. Vendors will fill all avenues of the festival with crafts, food and other assorted goods beginning on Friday afternoon and will be open during all festival hours. Friday highlights of the festival include a Miss Burgoo Pageant beginning at 6:00 p.m. This is open to Anderson County residents between the ages of 16-21. An official welcome to the festival from the Burgoo Stage will be at 7:15 p.m. followed by a music show provided by Smooth Daddy. On the Main Street Stage the band After Hours will be playing beginning at 7:00 p.m. Early on Saturday morning the Lawrenceburg Lions Club is sponsoring a 5K Run/Walk through the park and a Fastest Kid in the County contest. Information about both of these events can be obtained by calling 839-3685. Saturday’s activities also include the Little Miss & Mister Pageants on the Courthouse Stage at 10:00 a.m. Pre-registration is required for this event. Other activities during the day include the Boniest Knees Contest for men, a quilt show, a turkey calling contest for kids, and bingo. The Wheels of Time Car Club Cruise will be held at the Early Childhood Center at 126 North Main Street, just short two blocks from the festival. Music will be going strong all day long and into the night with the Oldies Show, Karaoke, Puncheon Creek, Travis Lane Miller, the Maestro, Jazmine Brooke & Clearwater, Stringtown, Spare Change and the Old Timers Band. Saturday evening will include a Patriotic Service held on the Burgoo Stage at 7:45 p.m. We celebrate the freedoms and privileges of living in the United States and welcome everyone. Sunday’s activities begin with a church service provided by the Lawrenceburg United Methodist Church on the Burgoo Stage beginning at 10:00 a.m. Following the service will be a Christian Rock Concert and lasting through the afternoon on the Burgoo Stage. Kids’ activities will be the main focus at the Main Street Stage beginning at 1:30 p.m. with a pedal tractor pull and silly games and relays for kids through age 12.
