Proceeds from the Book Fest are used for the promotion of literacy in our community. Held annually during National Library Week, the festival is a two-day event. Day 1 is devoted to schoolchildren. Children have the opportunity to meet their favorite authors, participate in dramatic and musical performances, and exercise their creativity in the make and do room. Day 2 is the major book signing event. Activities from Children’s Day are repeated plus all the adult authors and presentations are added. The 2006 Book Fest hosted authors representing all genres.
